Food in the Room: Home's Favourites!

Its the exam season again! While we hide on Pulau NTU and mug hard (or at least, try to) for the papers, the fridge and cupboards are being constantly stocked up because it does make the little breaktimes so much more enjoyable. And it also helps to have a ever-hungry roomie who is willing to get stuffed with me anytime. So here's the start of a mini-series on the goodies found in our room!

Shrimp Rolls

Who says these are restricted to Chinese New Year? They make a real good snack anytime! With a crunchy skin and mildly spicy shrimp filling, its hard to stop once you get started!

Japanese Sweet Potato Cookies

Looking too cute to eat? While you couldn't taste its flavour instantly when popping one in, the natural sweetness and fragrance of sweet potato would slowly and surely unfold. Together with its coarse texture and bits of melon seed, you would then appreciate just how good it was!
