Have you been to NEX? I reckon that if I were to dedicate my writings on all of its food establishments, it will take up to a year and when I'm finally done, its time to do it all over again to check on the consistency!
So there is this Japanese food street that is similar to the one in Jurong Point, but bigger with more brands. Green Pumpkin is a bakery (with sit-in cafe) in that street, serving up fresh buns and a colourful assortment of cakes. As my house is only one train station away, we bought some takeaways for teatime back at home!

Pumpkin Mont Blanc ($5.80)
Pretty to look at, my mom and I found that it lacked the fragrance and taste of pumpkin, which you probably couldn't tell in a blindfold test. Though we do have to give credit to its smooth texture and light whipped cream within, balancing the sourness of the apricot and raspberry.

Citrus Yuzu Cheesecake ($5.80)
This fared better as the usual light flavour of Japanese-styled cheesecake was given a distinctively sour, refreshing touch. My gripe? With a base area smaller than a credit card, it was rather expensive given the pricetag!

Latte Macchiato, Cappuccino
Of course, you need to pair cakes with coffee! Our Nespresso buddy is spoiling us with plenty of options! Although its quite far off from my favourite Flor Patissier, I think I will return to Green Pumpkin given its location convenience and not-too-bad rendition of Japanese cakes. Will try the other creations then!

Hey I just realized your coffee in the bodum cupware consists of multiple layers woot! How did you manage to do that? A barista in your house? (:
