Every now and then I like to observe and complain about our fast food. The prices and portions are always moving in the inverse directions! Just when I thought that Carls Junior would be the only positive exception, I found solace in another not-so-conventional fast food place that has become my periodic hangout: EwF!
Located at the ground floor of the still-rather-quiet Orchard Central, EwF is a fast food spin off of Everything With Fries, retaining a few signature burgers on the menu and introducing even more awesome ones. Queue up, order, get a number, and have your food made fresh and sent to your table!
Since there is no service charge, everything is pretty DIY except for the delivery part. Collect your own utensils at the counter and grab a few packets of sauce as well. The mustard one is a rarity!
Har Jeong Kai Burger ($6.90)
This was the main reason that made me keep coming back for more! While I would usually lament about the lack of prawn paste in the chicken zichar dish, the chefs here certainly spared no hands in marinating the juicy meat, then deep frying it with a crispy batter that gave it an even stronger prawn paste taste. Sandwiched between refreshing lettuce and tomato slices and a warm, toasted bun, it sure was repeatedly addictive!
On separate occasions, I had the Charsiew Burger ($7.90) which was also fantastic with fatty pork belly meat and had a caramelised texture. Always a struggle to choose between this two!
Battered Fish Sandwich Meal ($9.90)
The girlfriend loved how her fish burger was every time served hot, crispy and not dripping with oil. Topping up a couple of dollars, you can get a drink and a huge serving of their flavoured fries. Curry and Sour Cream and Onions are our favourites!
Warm Apple Crumble ($4.00 with meal purchase)
Need a sweet ending? Pick something from their desserts selection then! While their signature Nutella Tart is always tempting, we discovered that the apple crumble was pretty good too, with generous layers of crunchy apple slices and a thick coat of the sugary brittle bits on top. Yum!
Bill for two would usually be less than $24. Though slightly more pricey than the usual fast food, EwF definitely bowls over with its huge servings and unique creations. I need another fix of HJK burger already!

ooh.. the apple crumble cheesecake isn't available at all outlets eh? Didn't see it at Wisma.
Haha, but i never waste one okay! Finished all the packs!
